Religious Education is the first learning area

It enables young people to understand, explain and justify the Christian message as it is handed on by the Catholic church to those who follow Christ in today’s world. Through a process of cultural, systematic and critical reflection students learn the teachings of the Gospel and how to live Christian lives.

As educators, we are passionate about meeting the unique strengths, needs, and dispositions of every one of our students. We know that all children are capable learners who grow and develop at their own pace, and we remain dedicated to using their learning experiences at St Patrick’s to help them become the best version of themselves.

At St Patrick’s Fremantle, we adhere to the guidelines set by the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our curriculum not only sets high standards for student achievement and learning, but also incorporates ACARA’s Australian curriculum English, Mathematics, and Science. In addition, year-level syllabuses for Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Technologies, The Arts, and Languages remain broadly consistent with the national curriculum but have been tailored to meet the unique needs of Western Australian students and teachers specifically. We believe this approach allows us to offer the best possible education to our students, helping them reach their full potential.
