Parish

Established in 1850, the Catholic community of St Patrick's Fremantle is the third of its kind in Western Australia. It follows St Mary's Cathedral Parish Perth and the Benedictine community of New Norcia. Before 1894, the parish was mainly served by Diocesan Priests, except for a brief period in the 1850s, when it was under the care of Benedictine Priests. Since 1894, the parish has been entrusted to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Currently, Fr Slawek Plonka is the Parish Priest and Rector of the Basilica of St Patrick.
